As iPhone 4S got released last year, I switched to iPhone from my favorite Blackberry and joined Snigdha in the iPhone club where all my other associates and friends were waiting for me to give up my love for Blackberry. I am glad I did the switch, finally!
Initial couple of weeks went by figuring out things, exploring the Apps world and finding out what I needed and what not. You might be like me in my initial iPhone days – new to the iPhone trying to find out a few good apps to install and may be you would love what I love using on my iPhone.
Some Apps come preinstalled on an iPhone such as Maps, YouTube, Calendar, iTunes, and Reminders. Some are useful, some are not so much depending on your personal need and choice. However, these 6 iPhone apps I share with you here in this article are the ones I love and believe every iPhone owner must have installed:
-
Find My iPhone
This is actually a must have iPhone App. Somebody said it's critical to have it, so I have it now! If your iPhone is lost or stolen anytime, Find My iPhone can locate it physically, on a map, to show you precisely where it is. There are various options that are very useful in this App. But one feature I love about this App is, if I misplaced my phone in my own house, I log in on my iCloud website and force the phone to play a loud tone, even if it's set to silent. This is so much fun and awesome feature!
If you don't have Find My iPhone, you are not taking advantage of one of the best free features of iOS 5. Go ahaed and configure this App on your phone if you haven't already. I am sure you will enjoy it's features.

Facebook
Having a worldwide business and being a personal branding enthusiast, this is the first application I installed on my iPhone. If you're not enthralled by Facebook, many of your friends and family probably are, and they use it to share important information that you might need to know. Whether you're an avid Facebook user or just an occasional visitor, the app helps you stay in touch with the people and events all around you that matters a lot. This App has been an awesome addition to my social media experience. I highly encourage you download and install this.
Along with Facebook App, if you use Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, you may install them and configure too. I personally use all of them though Facebook and Twitter are my top Social Media Apps.
-
Evernote
This is my favorite iPhone App. It is such an amazing service, you realize when you start using it! Evernote is uniquely personal tool. Everyone can use it differently. The free iPhone app synchronizes notes of all kinds, like text notes, audio recorded notes or voice memos, and pictures – and then makes them all highly searchable. When it comes to staying organized, keeping track of ideas, and writing things down, Evernote for iPhone does the heavy lifting for you.
We use Evernote for pretty much everything from wishlist, taking notes, recording voice memos, grocery lists to blogging. You would love it more as you get used to this awesome App!

Mint.com
I have been a Mint.com user long before I started to use iPhone and I was thrilled to know there is an iPhone App available! Mint.com is a Personal finance website that helps you stick to your budget on the go. It automatically itemizes all your transactions and geo-tags where you spend your money. This app has many times saved me penalties on my credit cards because of it's awesome notifications when I am approaching a payment due date and haven't scheduled a payment yet.
Along with this, you may also download whatever free apps your primary banks have as Mint can't initiate money transfers, but bank apps typically can. Most banks have their own App and you may dowload them for free in most cases.

Onavo Extend
Onavo, is an awesome iPhone App that reduces data usage. If you're traveling abroad or looking to cut down your data plan costs, it's an essential app for you. It is very user friendly and highly customizable App. What I like the most about Onavo is, it significantly decreased my data consumption without me doing any work. It works automatically, and it works very very well!
Unlike me, if you're a detailed oriented person and would like to see some reports, Onavo will give you all kinds of statistics about how you're using your iPhone with comprehensive data reports. I think it's worth giving a shot.

Mapquest
MapQuest is the #1 provider of FREE voice-guided, turn-by-turn, GPS navigation for iPhone. Installing this App on my iPhone has tremendously made my life easy. One thing is I travel a lot and on top of that, I can't remember directions. Because of this App, I don't need to carry my bulky GPS Navigation system everywhere I go. I have my iPhone with me and I am good to go anywhere.
I love the fact that powered by Mapquest App, voice-guided, with turn-by-turn directions – like a GPS your phone speaks to you. Get this App if you need a GPS on your iPhone. You will love it.
