TED Talk by Amy Cuddy- Fake It Until You Become It

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to inject self confidence and positive mental attitude? Harvard researcher Amy Cuddy says, "Your body language shapes who you are!" [tweet this]

In this emotion provoking incredible TED Talk that I just watched, social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” (standing in a posture of confidence), even when we don’t feel confident, can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

Amy Cuddy, in this TED Talk, shares her research on body language that reveals how we can change other people’s perceptions — and even our own body chemistry — simply by changing body positions.

Watching this video, I was especially intrigued by her demonstration of the impact of "power-posing" just before an important meeting such as a job interview, or a business presentation etc. Once you watch this video, you will be excited about what is possible, I am sure!

If you enjoyed this video, please share your thoughts about this research and how do you think it can help us in day-to-day basis. I look forward to your comments.

  1.  Thanks Kumar for stunning video.
I accept as true, One’s body language is enough to know that he/she is not happy or what he/Shes expresses. This is a very powerful tool.
    Do watch this awesome video?
I learn something from it. I’m sure will you will not disappoint after watching this.

    •  Ranjan Ji,

Thank you for your feedback. It is an awesome concept. Glad you enjoyed!

  2. Great blog post Kumar! I absolutely LOVE  Ted.com videos.

A couple of points… First, if you have not read it, I highly recommend “The Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton http://bit.ly/S9wPoD

Secondly, body language is a very important tool for understanding people at a deeper level.
In many cases, they are saying one thing, but their body is revealing something entirely different.
For example, it is studied and utilized to great effect by police officers in observation and interrogation, and often points out the direction an investigation needs to be taken.

    Kind Regards,
    Bill
