I came across a very interesting article today on DumbLittleMan.com that talks about the importance of following a proven system of success and why such systems should be followed to the core by those who seek success.
The author cites very good reasons to when he suggests why one shouldn't get "creative" to invent a new system. It is a very good article with great examples.
However, I have some reservations against the theory of just following the system without being fully convinced about it and here are my examples and reasoning:
I love attending business seminars, personal development workshops and networking events where I get to meet successful entrepreneurs from various industries and learn from their experience. This is how I add value to my entrepreneurial spirit.
Recently, I attended a professional seminar with a few of my business associates and got to listen to and learn from some of the top entrepreneurs in Dallas metro area. It was a fun filled event with a power packed schedule where I got a chance to make a lot of notes for myself.
Personal Branding, I really believe, is the most important aspect of your marketing. It is particularly important to book authors, life coaches, entrepreneurs and public speakers because success in these professions depends on your credibility in the marketplace. The more the credibility, the better your chances are of success.
What Is Personal Branding?
Wikipedia says : “Personal branding, self-positioning and all individual branding by whatever name, was first introduced in 1937 in the book 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill.”
Personal branding, by definition, is the process by which we market ourselves to others. As a brand, we have the ability to leverage the same strategies that make these celebrities or corporate brands apply. We can build brand equity and our online presence just like the celebrities and corporations.
When I started blogging just a couple of years ago, I did not think it was necessary to worry about the security of my WordPress Blogs or make regular backups very often. Whenever possible, I did manage to make a few backups, once in a while, using the default backup services provided by the web hosting companies.
However, as my blog and online business footprint started to grow, I soon realized that it is not just about writing and publishing blog posts, but I also needed to take good care of things: like managing plugins, database optimization and even SEO improvements, wherever applicable.
New Year is the time when I’ve always felt that all of us are filled with new energy, new hopes of new beginnings and we all so look forward to the best year. Once again we are almost done with this current year and so looking forward to another year filled with success and happiness.
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.

I remember writing down new dreams, talking about it, praying to God (secretly) to make those dreams come true while I was a little kid. And, of course, if those things didn’t happen, the punishment to God was – no prayer for next several weeks or even months!
When I started blogging, I decided to follow the top blogs in every area of my interest, started to study what they write about, how they write and what they recommend. Soon it built my confidence and inspired me to start writing and I started to improve myself in many ways.
You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read. ― Charlie “Tremendous” Jones [tweet this]
I’ve numerous friends who are attempting to get serious about their personal branding, their businesses and get a little more serious about their blogging this coming year.
Social Media is nothing new and if you are reading this post, you are already participating in social media. However, the book, Socialnomics – How Social Media Transforms The Way We Live And Do Business, is a fascinating, research-based look at the impact of social media on businesses and consumers around the world, and what's in store for the future.
Brand names can now be strengthened or destroyed by the use of social media. It is more evident today if we just pay close attention to the way big companies are focusing on social media platforms. Advertising is less effective at influencing consumers than are the opinions of their peers, making direct-to-consumer marketing messages less valuable each day.
